Kathleen Mckeough - Counsellor

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I have been counselling clients throughout the northeast area and facilitating their self-growth in order to help them gain balance and quality to their lives.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands in these stressful times, my service aims to introduce clarity and self-motivation. I also teach techniques to better manage the emotional stress of everyday life.

Troubled Minds Counselling is a confidential service for those who are experiencing specific difficulties in their lives.It offers the opportunity to talk in an honest and open environment
without judgement.

Counselling is available by a qualified professional counsellor for
many issues such as:Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, stress, bereavement and other mental health issues.

Depression

Depression takes on many forms and it is not a term to feel ashamed or scared of. Feelings of depression can come in waves over a short period of time or you may have several months of feeling low and then start to feel better.
There are many causes of depression. sometimes it can be a past hurt or trauma letting you know it hasn't been dealt with.
Talking to a counsellor can help. Being able to speak freely and openly and having someone be with you in the darkness can help you find a way through.

Suicidal Thoughts

Many people experience suicidal thoughts whether these are a fleeting consideration or a well thought out plan. The pain and anguish you are feeling can be alleviated over time with help and support. We offer non-judgemental, non-directive and honest counselling sessions to help you find the strength to keep going.

Bereavement & Loss

Bereavement can affect people in different ways, it can be hard to cope with the loss of a loved one and it is not always easy to deal with the range of emotions that may follow the aftermath of a death. I am here to help and support you through your grief.

Low Self- Esteem

f you have low self-esteem or confidence, you may hide yourself away from social situations, stop trying new things, and avoid things you find challenging. In the short term, avoiding challenging and difficult situations might make you feel safe however it is restricting your chance to enjoy and enhance your life
